20 under 40: Jamie Norwood
Favorite quote or saying, why?
“But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.’ ” – Mark 10:27
There have been various times in my life when I have learned to not rely on my own strength, but rather to rely on the strength of the Lord. He has shown me that only he can make the impossible possible. There have been so many obstacles placed in front of my little business, but God has overcome and continues to overcome each one in beautiful ways.
Your life changed when:
I competed in the Valley Apprentice. This led to my job as Dan Costa’s assistant. Over the past five years I have learned business firsthand from one amazing entrepreneur. Dan’s passion, knowledge, intuition, and most of all his negotiation skills in business are something to behold and each day I am privileged to learn from him.
What do you want people to know most about you?
Each day I strive to live out my faith with courage and conviction and hope that others will know that I am truly grateful for each and every blessing in my life. I have been blessed with two amazing parents who sacrificed so much to give me every opportunity. It is truly a privilege to live in America where people are free to work hard to give their families a brighter and better future.
What do you like most about living here?
I love living in a small town where the values of faith, family, hard work and love for your neighbor are lived out each day. Our area is filled with amazing men and women who are accomplishing great things. I am constantly amazed to learn about the different businesses in our area and the brave entrepreneurs who take chances, work hard and make their dreams a reality. In turn, these businesses impact so many people in meaningful ways.
Why is community involvement important?
Community involvement allows each of us to connect with new people, learn about the needs in our community, and take action to make our community a better place and put others before ourselves.
