AMERICAN CANCER
SOCIETY RELAY FOR LIFE
NEEDED: Volunteers ages 16 and older are needed on the first day of each relay to register walkers and teams, assist with sales, help with other activities and assist with cleanup at all sites. BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF STANISLAUS COUNTY
NEEDED: Volunteers 18 and older to help in the summer camp program at one elementary school and one club site through Aug. 5. Tasks include helping during activities, sports and field trips. Must commit to a minimum of one hour a week, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, as needed. Background check, fingerprint clearance and TB test required.

MODESTO VETERANS FUNERAL DETAIL
NEEDED: Honorably discharged veterans who have the spirit to honor our fallen heroes. There is a growing number of requests for funerals in Modesto, Ceres, Escalon, Ripon, Turlock, Patterson and San Joaquin National Cemetery at Santa Nella. Also will perform numerous formal flag raisings, flag retirements, flag folding, parades, etc.

PARENT RESOURCE CENTER
NEEDED: Volunteer ages 14 years and older on an ongoing basis to assist with childcare supervision while parents are attending class on site. Play games, sing songs and help children increase their developmental skills. Volunteers need to commit to two hours per week. Volunteers must have a current TB clearance and a background check for individuals 18 years and older.

STANISLAUS ANIMAL SERVICES AGENCY
NEEDED: Volunteers 16 and older to socialize, exercise and care for adoptable animals and assist the public with adoptions at the shelter. Flexible shifts are available Monday-Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Open to all ages (under 18 years with a parent). All volunteers must have a basic knowledge of animal care and animal handling experience, complete the application process and attend an orientation scheduled the third Wednesday each month 5:30-6:30 p.m. Take completed application orientation.

RETIRED & SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
NEEDED: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is for those 55 years and older. RSVP assists people, age 55 and older, in finding volunteer opportunities where they can use their talents to help resolve local community needs.

STANISLAUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
NEEDED: Volunteers 22 and older are needed for the STARS program. STARS citizen volunteers assist the Sheriff’s Department in many roles including patrolling the county, court security, jail assistance, vacation house checks, neighborhood watch and more. Must be able to commit to at least 10 hours a month, and pass an oral board and background check.
