YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: The Modesto City Council approved a 50-cent unlimited-rides ticket for the city bus system. The 50-cent ticket would be good only for the day on which the rider bought it. The special fare was designed for riders who used the bus system multiple times a day, keeping them from having to purchase a new ticket at 25 cents for each additional ride.
