At the libraries
Here’s our weekly glance at the many programs for children and adults offered by the Stanislaus County Library system’s 13 branches. Some programs are ongoing, others are special events and all are free and open to the public:
KNITTING AND CROCHET CLASSES ▪ Ongoing
Knitting and crocheting help for beginners or those needing help with a special project. 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Waterford Library, 324 E St. 209-874-2191.
VETERAN GRATITUDE LETTERS ▪ Through Nov. 25
The Hughson Library will collect thank you letters to veterans. Community members may bring in completed letters or write them in the library. All letters will be forwarded to Operation Gratitude. Library hours. Hughson Library, 2412 Third St., Suite A. 209-883-2293.
MUG CRAFT ▪ Through Nov. 28
Stop by anytime in November to decorate a mug using colorful permanent markers. Finished mugs are hand-washable. Newman Library, 1305 Kern St., 209-862-2010.
CHOCOLATE TASTING ▪ Nov. 9
Learn how to distinguish between the rich and complex flavors of various chocolates. Recommended for ages 14 and up. 1 p.m. Modesto Library, 1500 I St. Registration is required at 209-558-7814.
GOLDEN AUTUMN LEAF CRAFT ▪ Nov. 9
Make autumn leaves for your dinner table. Books on decorating will be available for checkout. 5 p.m. Salida Library, 4835 Sisk Road, 209-543-7353.
SALIDA LIBRARY BOOK CLUB ▪ Nov. 10

WESTSIDE READERS BOOK CLUB ▪ Nov. 10

ALL AGES COLORING DAY ▪ Nov. 10

GET CRAFTY- PENDANTS ▪ Nov. 12

COVERED CALIFORNIA ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE ▪ Nov. 16-17

MASON JAR CRAFT ▪ Nov. 19
