Get a look inside unique homes in Turlock during benefit for Carnegie Arts Center
Homes, their architecture and landscapes will be open to benefit the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock.
The 2019 Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour includes self-guided tours of four homes — inside and out — on Saturday, May 11. A special twilight tour of one of the homes also will be offered Friday, May 10, featuring music, food and drink.
“This spring, treat yourself to an exclusive and exciting glimpse behind the hedges, fences and doors of four distinctive Turlock residences,” a press release from the Carnegie Arts Center said. “Building on the popularity of the 2018 Designer Show House, the Carnegie Arts Center is once again highlighting architecture, interior and landscape design in a fundraising event that brings many different art forms together.”
Included on the tour will be a classic historic home, a contemporary showplace, a modernist green design and a country ranch.
The event marks the second year the Carnegie has worked with local homeowners and design professionals to present a home tour.
This year’s four-home tour also will include artists painting en plein air, poets creating new work on the spot, musicians and more. “Each home will have a creative twist to enliven the space and highlight the variety of artistic endeavors the Carnegie routinely presents,” according to the release.
An evening preview Twilight Tour on Friday will be held at one of the “most unique homes on the tour,” the release said. The Friday event offers a first look at the home and features live music, farm-to-garden foods, regional wine and beer and a raffle.
