At the libraries: Activities for kids and adults abound

A weekly glance at programs for children and adults offered by the Stanislaus County Library system’s 13 branches. Some programs are ongoing, others are special events and all are free and open to the public:

PRESCHOOL STORY TIMES ▪  Ongoing

WIGGLE WORMS ▪  Ongoing

For babies, active toddlers. Held regularly at most branches; contact individual branches for dates, times and locations.

INTERNET & COMPUTER BASICS ▪  Ongoing

Basic introductions in separate classes. Advance registration required; contact branches for dates, times and locations.

TIE-DYE AT THE LIBRARY ▪  May 8

BUTTERFLY CRAFT ▪  May 9

Children are invited to make different types of butterflies using a variety of materials. 3 p.m. Hughson Library, 2412 3rd St. 209-883-2293.

CUPCAKE MOTHER’S DAY CARDS ▪  May 9

Create a cupcake card using cupcake liners and buttons. Supplies will be provided. 3 p.m. Newman Library, 1305 Kern St. 209-862-2010.

MOTHER’S DAY PHOTO CANVAS CRAFT ▪  May 9

Pose for a special photo, then glue the photo to canvas and decorate it to make a gift. 3:30 p.m. Waterford Library, 324 E St. 209-874-2191.

CRAZY 8’S MATH: GLOW IN THE DARK CITY ▪  May 9

SPY PARTY ▪  May 9

TEEN & ADULT CRAFT: FLOWER PENS ▪  May 10

CAREGIVER COLLEGE ▪  May 11

TWEEN PERLER BEAD CRAFT ▪  May 11

TECH CONNECT: TWITTER BASICS ▪  May 11

STEAM CRAFT: NEWSPAPER TOWER ▪  May 13
