Sierra View Music Fest

The seventh annual Sierra View Music Fest brings in country headliner Craig Morgan along with rising country stars Frankie Ballard, Love and Theft and McKenna Faith. The all-day outdoor music festival includes food and drink vendors. Held in remembrance of teacher and musician Heidi Brunk to raise funds for the Heidi Brunk Foundation and Music Scholarship.

Assyrian Festival

Immerse yourself in another culture at the new Assyrian Festival with traditional food, historical exhibits, live entertainment and more. The celebration is a joint venture from Central Valley and Bay Area dioceses of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East. The event also commemorates the century since the Assyrian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Edible Extravaganza

Eat, drink and be charitable at the 29th annual Edible Extravaganza. The event raises funds for the nonprofit Center for Human Services, which serves Stanislaus County youths and families. The show will sample offerings from area restaurants, caterers, bakers, confectioners, vintners and more.

Carolyn Wonderland

Check out nationally touring blues artist Carolyn Wonderland at the State Theatre this weekend. Described as “Janis Joplin meets Bonnie Raitt,” the Texas-born performer is known for her blues vocals and guitar playing. Also performing will be Modesto favorites Big Earl and the Cryin’ Shame.

Smoke on the River

Enjoy bands, brew and barbecue at Smoke on the River. The annual barbecue competition and music festival is sponsored by the Ceres Chamber of Commerce. Live music from Greg Scudder and the Beer:30, the Black Rose Band, Highway 99 Band and Patty Castillo-Davis.

The Gipsy Kings

The Gipsy Kings brings its blend of flamenco, rumba, salsa and pop to the Gallo Center. The Grammy Award-winning group has sold some 20 million albums over its more than 30-year career. The band is led by producer and guitarist Tonino Baliardo and lead singer Nicolas Reyes. Pop-rock group Arc Iris opens the show.
