Mitchell Tenpenny is the next performer set to take the stage at Modesto’s Fruit Yard Amphitheater. The Modesto Symphony Orchestra will perform the score live as “Jurassic Park” screens at the Gallo Center. These are just two of several entertainment options coming up in the region May 23-29.

Mitchell Tenpenny is set to bring his “Speed of Light Tour 2026” to the Fruit Yard Amphitheater. Tenpenny is a country pop singer-songwriter whose hits include “Drunk Me,” “Truth About You” and “At The End of a Bar.” He released his latest song, “You Phase,” in January. He’ll be joined by Matt Stell and Blue Line.

“Jurassic Park in Concert”

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra presents “Jurassic Park in Concert” at the Gallo Center. The action-adventure film will be projected in HD on a giant screen, while the full Modesto Symphony Orchestra performs live along with John Williams’s iconic score. The performance will be led by Principal Pops Conductor Ryan Murray.

Rescheduled from an earlier date, Garrison Keillor is set to take the stage at Turlock Community Theatre. Known for hosting “A Prairie Home Companion” for 40 years, Keillor has written a memoir and a book of limericks. He’s working on a musical and a Lake Wobegon screenplay, and continues to do “The Writers Almanac” sent out daily to Internet subscribers. He’ll appear in Turlock with guest Richard Dworsky.

Open Cockpit Day

Castle Air Museum offers its Spring Open Cockpit Day. The former Air Force base in Atwater will provide an up-close look at old military aircraft, including a newly restored B-52 Stratofortress. The semiannual event also features food vendors, a beer garden, demonstrations by emergency agencies and more.

Peddlers fair

The Mother Lode’s Arnold Peddlers Faire returns with vendors, art, lawn games and more. There will be 60 booths of original arts and crafts, antiques and collectibles. The Ebbetts Pass Fire Department will sell locally brewed beer.

Apricot fest

The annual Patterson Apricot Fiesta includes entertainment, food and beer booths, craft and commercial vendors, a kids area, an arm-wrestling tournament, car show and more. A parade on Saturday begins at 10 a.m. and there will be fireworks that evening at dusk.
