MoBand wants you to “Celebrate” this summer.

That’s the theme for the 2026 concert season in June and July by the Modesto Band of Stanislaus County, known lovingly in the community as MoBand.

The series of six summer concerts begins June 4 and runs through July 9. The band starts playing at 8 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays in Mancini Bowl at Graceada Park, 401 Needham St, Modesto.

“The 107th season ... will celebrate music selections from past and current times along with a patriotic blast for the U.S.A.’s 250th birthday,” a press release said. “Conductor Brad Hart and Assistant Conductor/Band Manager Will Melendez return to the stage for a summer packed with musical favorites.”

For a twist this year, audience members are encouraged to wear clothes that correspond to each week’s concert theme.

Following is a look at what’s planned for the season the themed dress suggestions, according to the release:

June 4: “Good Vibrations” will feature music from The Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas, Eagles and A-ha. Consider wearing “wacky ties and socks” for this opening-night event.

June 11: “Star Power” will bring music from “Hamilton,” Bruce Springsteen, “Stranger Things,” “Grandpa’s Favorite Disney” and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Wear clothes celebrating a favorite character.

June 18: “Innovation Nation” will highlight Santana, “The National Game March,” selections from the film “Up” and music celebrating space, “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” The audience is encouraged to “white out” Mancini Bowl by wearing white shirts.

June 25: “Bright Lights, Modesto Nights” will offer the music of Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Bruno Mars and Cher. Dress in casino-night or nightlife attire.

July 2: MoBand celebrates America’s 250th birthday with patriotic music including “The Washington Post March,” “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “American Salute” and “The Greatest Generation.” Wear patriotic clothing.

July 9: “Sunshine and Rainbows” will conclude the season with music from Jimmy Buffett, “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys and the Israel Kamakawiwoʻole-based version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World.” Don Hawaiian shirts.

MoBand is one of the oldest and largest community bands in the United States, according to the release, averaging 130 performers. It’s open to all area musicians high-school age and older, with no auditions.
