Ladies, stuff in those shoulder pads, and fellas, pop those polo collars — the ’80s are coming back in a big way to Modesto.

A Flock of Seagulls, one of the more recognizable bands from the new wave era (think lead singer’s blond hair with wings at the sides, swept over his face at the front), will play a show at Crocodiles Nightclub.

It’s part of the club’s Second Chance Prom event at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17. The party is expected to last until 2 a.m. the next morning, just like back in your clubbing days.

The band is expected to play for more than 70 minutes, performing hits “that defined a generation,” the event’s description on its eventbrite.com website says.

A Flock of Seagulls is best known for its hit “I Ran (So Far Away),” including the song’s iconic video, which was a staple on MTV in its early era.

The group’s other international hits include “Space Age Love Song” and “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You).”

Tickets for the show are $45.52 to $135.23, available on eventbrite. Crocodiles is at 1745 Prescott Road in Modesto. For more on the club, see www.crocodilesnightclub.com.
