Some of hip-hop’s most popular club hits will get things moving at the Stanislaus County Fair this summer.

Ying Yang Twins will play the Modelo Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18. The concert is included with the price of fair admission.

“Get ready to turn up and hit the dance floor with the iconic duo behind some of hip-hop’s biggest club anthems,” a press release from the fair said.

The Atlanta-bred performers join other artists, including big names such as Clint Black and Ashanti, set to play this year at the 10-day expo in Turlock.

The Ying Yang Twins, D-Roc and Kaine, debuted in 1996 with the single “Whistle While You Twurk,” played on urban and pop radio stations, according to the release. The song peaked at No. 17 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

In 2002, the duo appeared on the double-platinum-selling album “Kings of Crunk” by Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz on the club and radio hit single “Get Low,” the release said.

The Twins’ album “Me & My Brother,” went platinum in 2005, and included a trio of hits — “Whats Happnin!,” “Naggin’,” and the Lil Jon collaboration “Salt Shaker.” The same year, the duo appeared on Britney Spears’ album “In the Zone,” on the song “I Got That (Boom Boom).”

“(The) album ‘U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta)’ appeared in the summer of 2005 as its singles ‘Wait (The Whisper Song),’ ‘Badd’ and ‘Shake’ were dominating popular music and rap radio stations,” the release said.

The Ying Yang Twins have had several other releases over the years, and their song “Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk)” is a standard during games at many NFL football stadiums.

The 2026 Stanislaus County Fair is set for July 10-19 at the fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway in Turlock. See www.stancofair.com for more.
