Iconic rock band Kansas will bring its numerous hits to the Gallo Center for the Arts. Also set to play is Postmodern Jukebox in a return to the downtown Modesto venue. These are just two of the entertainment options set for region from Aug. 30-Sept. 5.

Kansas

Classic rock’s Kansas brings its iconic sound to the Gallo Center. The audience can expect hits including “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind,” “Point of Know Return,” “Fight Fire With Fire,” “Hold On” and others. Limited tickets were available.

MoChiMu After Dark

MoChiMu After Dark invites adults into the Modesto Children’s Museum to explore all that it has to offer. For ages 18 and over, the after-hours event this month will be based on “Superheroes & Science.” There will be activities, grown-up crafts, snacks, drinks and more.

Postmodern Jukebox

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox – “Magic & Moonlight Tour” will pull into the Gallo Center. The group’s revamped show blends modern-day music and iconic hits in genres such as ragtime, swing, big band, country, doo-wop and soul.

Newman Fall Festival

Expect a parade, carnival, entertainment, food and beverage booths, vendors and more at the Newman Fall Festival. The parade will be held on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. on Main Street.

Open Cockpit Day

Castle Air Museum’s Open Cockpit Day offers an up-close look at old military aircraft. The semiannual event at the former Air Force base also features food vendors and demonstrations by emergency agencies.

Chinese Cultural fest

The AAPI Cultural Festival is presented by the Stanislaus Chinese Association. It will offer free cultural events for children from 4-4:45 p.m. Also planned are a dragon dance, performances and raffles. There will be a dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The Sierra Nevada Arts And Crafts Festival returns to the Mother Lode town of Arnold. Booths will feature handcrafted items, arts and antiques, food and more. In addition, the Ebbetts Pass Volunteer Fire Department will sell craft beers and a variety of food.
