Bubble up
Jeff Boyer’s Big Bubble Bonanza features bubble rainbows with people inside, a chance for audience members to make volcano bubbles, gigantic bubbles that blow their own bubbles and more. The Guinness Book of World Records-holding, bubble wrangler Jeff Boyer brings his show to the Gallo Center. It’s a mix of comedy, music and interactive bubble magic for all ages.

Civil War reenactments
The Knights Ferry Civil War Days returns, courtesy of the American Civil War Association. Battle reenactments will be held for two days, along with a look at camp life and how women and children experienced the war.

Ronstadt Revue
The “Ronstadt Revue Featuring Gesenia” pulls into the Gallo Center, honoring the music of Linda Ronstadt, performed in English and Spanish. Also appearing is guest John Beland, Ronstadt’s band director, who will share stories and musical collaborations.

Irish dance
A celebration of the past, present and future of Irish dance is presented by Velocity Irish Dance. The group performs a tap performance choreographed by James Devine and five-time World Irish Dance Champion David Geaney. The show will be backed at the Gallo Center by a rocking Celtic band, a DJ and other dancers.

Ballet folklórico
Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández returns to the United States for a multi-city tour, including at stop at the Gallo Center. Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández, the show presents the music, dance and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations through modern times. Limited tickets were available.

Modesto Area Partners in Science
Dr. Douglas Weiser offers the next Modesto Area Partners in Science program, “Adapt or Die: How the Unfolded Protein Response Allows Cells to Decide Between Responding to Stress & Programmed Cell Death.” Weiser will discuss his research in which he uses zebrafish as a genetic model. He also will share the implications of his research on the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
