Central West Ballet brings its popular “Nutcracker in Jazz!” production back to the Gallo Center, for one night only. The Modesto Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Candlelight Concert also returns to St. Stanislaus Church. There are plenty of other yuletide entertainment options planned for the Modesto and Mother Lode regions from Dec. 14-20.
“Nutcracker in Jazz!”
“Nutcracker in Jazz!” returns to the Gallo Center, performed by Modesto’s Central West Ballet. A companion to the company’s classic “Nutcracker” performances going on now, the show features big-band Christmas sounds and jazz. Tickets include a reception in the lobby of the Gallo Center after the performance.

Holiday Candlelight Concert
The Modesto Symphony Orchestra returns with its annual Holiday Candlelight Concert. The orchestra will be joined by the MSO Chorus to perform traditional hymns. Held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Modesto, it will be decorated by candlelight.

Gallo Center Repertory
“All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914” will be performed by the Gallo Center Repertory Company. An a cappella chorale, it tells the real-life World War I story of how soldiers from France, England and Germany called a battlefield truce on Christmas Day for a night of camaraderie before returning to fight in the morning.

Riverbank holiday celebration
There will be an “Action Packed Christmas” at the annual Riverbank Christmas Parade & Craft Fair. The craft fair features handmade items. A holiday parade begins at 5:30 p.m. in downtown. Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch will be at a tree-lighting ceremony following the parade.

Holiday Home Tour
