Got the beat? Singer bringing her hit music to Modesto. See where and when

Luckily, our lips aren’t sealed. So we can let you know that Go-Go’s frontwoman Belinda Carlisle will bring her music to a show at the Gallo Center in Modesto.

Also set is a Dia de los Muertos celebration, planned for downtown. Those are just two of the events set in the Modesto and Mother Lode regions for Oct. 22-28.

Belinda Carlisle

Singer Belinda Carlisle began her career as co-founder and lead vocalist of the all-female new wave/rock band The Go-Go’s, which has played as recently as this year in celebration of the group’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After nearly four decades in the business, Carlisle also continues to tour as a solo artist. She brings her music to the Gallo Center in Modesto.

Dia de los Muertos

The annual holiday of Dia de los Muertos celebrates the dead. This year’s event in downtown Modesto will include musical entertainment, ballet folklorico groups, lip sync entertainers, children’s activities, a Catrin and Catrina procession, altars, vendors and more.

Mariachi Los Camperos

The Gallo Center offers a special Dia de Los Muertos-themed show featuring Mariachi Los Camperos. The group was founded in 1961 by the late Jose Natividad “Nati” Cano Ruiz. Over its 59-year history, it has recorded and performed with artists including Pedro Fernandez, Linda Ronstadt, Pepe Aguilar, Angeles Ochoa, Luis Miguel and more.

All Hallows Fantasy Faire

Live music, craft vendors, archery lessons, activities for children, food, drink and more can be found at the two-day All Hallows Fantasy Faire and Celtic New Year Celebration in Angels Camp. There also will be a burning of the Harvest Man late on Saturday.
