Oakdale police arrested a Modesto man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an early-morning shooting on Halloween.

The drive-by shooting took place at a fourplex at 348 S. Third Ave. about 30 minutes after Oakdale police arrested four people there following a large fight.

A 20-year-old man was shot twice but survived.

Witnesses reported seeing a white Kia and a teal Ford Thunderbird that may have been involved driving north on Third Avenue following the shooting.

Investigators served a search warrant at the fourplex last week and continued to follow leads that led them to a suspect in Modesto late Friday night.

Investigators from Oakdale worked with a Modesto Police Department apprehension team to arrest 27-year-old Dana Craig Perry. He is being held at the Stanislaus County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Investigators are still looking for 32-year-old Michael “Mike” Walker of Oakdale for questioning as a person of interest, along with other possible witnesses and suspects. Witnesses reported seeing three suspects.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Detective Donald Stilwell at 209-847-2231.
