Woman shot in Walmart parking lot in Patterson

A woman was shot in the leg in the Walmart parking lot in Patterson on Saturday afternoon.

A call came in to Stanislaus sheriff’s deputies of a gunshot victim about 3:45 p.m. Saturday. The female victim was found in the Walmart parking lot off Sperry and Ward avenues. Witnesses were providing aid when law enforcement arrived. The woman, whose age and identity were unknown, was shot in the right leg. She was transported to the Doctors Medical Center emergency room for treatment.

The shooter fled and no description was available, according to Stanislaus sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.
