Authorities investigating double stabbing at mobile home park

A double stabbing at a mobile home park south of Modesto on Tuesday morning is being investigated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Modesto Police departments.

Authorities responded to the Country Western mobile home park at 4449 S. Carpenter Road after a roughly 9:15 a.m. call to dispatchers that a woman was stabbed and needed medical aid, said Modesto police Lt. Rigo DeAlba. Officers arrived to find a second stabbing victim, a man, sitting in a Honda sedan stopped on a street within the park. The female stabbing victim was in a mobile home.

Both victims were stabbed multiple times and taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, said sheriff’s Sgt. Mickey LaBarbera. He did not know the severity of their wounds but said both were expected to survive.

The person or people who did the stabbing had fled before authorities arrived. A knife was found lying on the rear window of the Honda, deputies said, but it was undetermined Tuesday morning whether the weapon was used in stabbing.

At midafternoon Tuesday, Turlock Police detectives – assisting in the case because of Tuesday’s services for Stanislaus County sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Wallace — were awaiting a search warrant on the case.
