Body found in irrigation canal near Hickman, sheriff’s department reports

A body was found in a canal near Hickman on Tuesday afternoon, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Details were not available on the identity of the deceased person, who was found in the Turlock Irrigation District’s Main Canal near Montpelier and Dallas roads. A sheriff’s dive team recovered the body. The investigation is continuing.
