To illustrate just how high and powerful the rivers and streams are in Yosemite right now the National Park Service sent out a tweet Friday with side by side photos of a portion of the Tuolumne River now compared to 10 years ago.

The photo, taken from the trail to Glen Aulin, shows the river in June 2007 when the rocky river bottom can be seen in some shallow portions, compared to today, the entire section is white water and trees that once stood on the store now are in the river.

“Wondering what we mean when we talk about high streams?” the tweet reads. “Check out these pics from the trail to Glen Aulin! Stay safe & be prepared.”
