Pickup truck runs into house in northwest Modesto

A driver suffered minor injuries Thursday night when a pickup truck ran into the front of a house in northwest Modesto, police said.

The occupants of the house on the 3100 block of Otis Avenue were in the garage when the Ford Ranger went through a living room wall, Officer Ryan Olson said. They were not injured.

The driver, who was not identified, showed signs of being under the influence, Olson said. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Olson said witnesses told officers that the truck was speeding as it turned from eastbound Delphine Avenue onto northbound Otis. The vehicle became lodged in the stucco front wall.

The house appeared to be still habitable, Capt. Ted Davis of the Modesto Fire Department said. Firefighters cleared the debris so they could check on the structure's integrity.
