Detectives, SWAT team arrest Turlock man in October homicide just south of town

Thaddius Pace, 44, of Turlock was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murdering Rudy Yvanes, 59, just south of town in October.

Detectives and the SWAT team served a search warrant at Pace's home on the 100 block of G Street and took him into custody, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department announced.

Deputies had responded at about 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 21 to a report of a deceased person in front of a home in the 200 block of I Street. They reported that Yvanes, a Turlock resident, had an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body.

The department said the victim was found at a vacant property that is "a hangout for homeless people."Pace was booked on a murder charge at the Stanislaus County Jail and is being held without bail.
