Senator Lindsey Graham calls Colin Kaepernick ‘loser’ and ‘racist’ on Fox News show
Appearing on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures on Jan. 5, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) called former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick “a loser on and off the field.”
Graham’s comments were in response to Kaepernick’s tweets on Jan. 4, which criticized the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
“There is nothing new about American terrorist attacks against Black and Brown people for the expansion of American imperialism,” one Kaepernick tweet read.
Graham didn’t hold back with his comments in a segment with host Maria Bartiromo.
“He has no idea what the Iranian regime has done to the region, he has no idea that they have 600 American deaths as a result of IEDs made in Iran and used in Iraq,” Graham said in response to Kaepernick’s tweets.
Graham continued: “It’s un-American ... He’s a racist. If you’re looking for racism in America, Mr. Kaepernick, look in the mirror. Your country is not the problem! It’s the Iranian and you’re so blinded by your hatred of Trump that you can’t see the difference between who we are and who the Ayatollah is.”
Kaepernick, who grew up in Turlock, California, last appeared in the NFL in 2016 and led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2013, when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-31.
