Modesto Nuts general manager moves on to new local job
Tyler Richardson, the Modesto Nuts’ general manager for the last two seasons, will leave the baseball organization after an 11-year run.
Richardson, 31, will remain in Modesto as vice president of investor relations for the Stanislaus Business Alliance. The product of Cal State Stanislaus cut his business teeth networking with Nuts sponsors and advertisers.
“It was my first career job out of Stanislaus State and was a great opportunity. It taught me a lot about business and life,” Richardson said. “There will be similarities with my new position. I was handling much of the off-the-field business work for the Nuts.”
Nuts Executive Vice President Mike Gorrasi, the team’s general manager from 2004 to ’13, will succeed Richardson as G.M. Gorrasi said the Nuts will revise responsibilities in the front office and add to personnel.
“Tyler worked his way up with us and was an instrumental part of our team for 11 years. This wasn’t a total surprise,” Gorrasi said. “I know this is a great opportunity for him. We wish him the best.”
