Stanislaus District high school football rankings

Large schools

Comprised of schools from the Modesto Metro Conference, Valley Oak League, Central California Conference and Western Athletic Conference.

2. (2) Oakdale (11-1): The Mustangs put away their quarterfinal meeting with Benicia early, bagging six rushing touchdowns by the intermission. Next: vs. Inderkum

3. (3) Patterson (11-1): The mistaken-prone Tigers saw their record-setting season stopped by a team on its own historic arc.

4. (4) Merced (8-3): CCC co-MVP A.J. Stewart had 122 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ season-ending loss to state-ranked Elk Grove.

5. (5) Manteca (9-3): The Buffaloes were bounced by Inderkum, but the future of the program is bright with sophomore quarterback Gino Campiotti.

7. (7) Downey (8-3): Season complete.

8. (9) Sierra (7-5): The Timberwolves set the tone early with a 14-0 lead and then matched scores the rest of the way with Calaveras. Next: vs. Liberty Ranch (Saturday at 6 p.m. at Elk Grove High)

9. (8) Los Banos (7-5): A 27-14 halftime deficit was too much to overcome for the Tigers, beaten by a Liberty Ranch field goal in the fourth quarter.

Small schools

Comprised of schools from the Trans-Valley League, Mother Lode League, Southern League and Central California Athletic Alliance.

2. (2) Hilmar (9-3): Junior Daniel Texeira played perhaps his worst game as the Yellowjackets’ starter and still provided the winning score, vaulting Hilmar into the D-VI final. Next: vs. Bradshaw Christian (Saturday at 6 p.m. at Lincoln High)

3. (3) Orestimba (11-1): Joe Sheldon was sacked six times and Austin Martins had to be helped off the field twice as the Warriors were pushed around by Sonora.

4. (4) Gustine (10-2): Brandon LaBry found the end zone, but the Redskins were overmatched by Bradshaw Christian.

5. (7) Stone Ridge Christian (10-1): The Knights ran their shutout streak to 36 quarters with a 66-0 victory over Millennium. Next: vs. Big Valley Christian (Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lincoln High)

6. (6) Ripon (6-5): Season complete.

7. (7) Hughson (8-3): Season complete.

8. (8) Ripon Christian (9-3): The Knights have nothing to hang their heads about; Ripon Christian pushed TVL-champion Hilmar.

9. (9) Calaveras (9-4): The Redskins pulled even with Sierra in the fourth quarter, but a special-teams gaffe forfeited any momentum in a 34-20 loss.

10. (10) Escalon (5-5): Season complete.
