Community QB Club meeting set for Tuesday

The Modesto Community Quarterback Club, which usually meets at noon each Monday at Coach’s Corner, 950 E. Oakdale Road, will meet on Tuesday this week because of the Labor Day holiday.

A buffet lunch will be served for $10.

The meetings honor one of the city’s 11 teams: Beyer, Big Valley Christian, Central Catholic, Davis, Downey, Enochs, Gregori, Johansen, Modesto, Modesto Christian and Modesto Junior College.

Coaches discuss their team’s previous game and upcoming game and answer questions from the audience. Schools earn points for attendance at meetings and at the end of the season get a share of the club’s proceeds based on the percentage of meetings attended.

This week’s featured team will be Johansen High School, which had a bye Friday and is 0-1.
