The Modesto Bee’s 2025 All-District Football Team — Offense

How the teams were selected: The Bee’s All-District teams were picked through observation and coach nominations with an emphasis on team playoff success. Players not on these lists were not nominated.

Offensive Player of the Year: Elias Haynes, Junior, Downey

Whenever Downey needed a big offensive play, Haynes was there to answer the call. Whether it was in the passing game or the rushing attack, he found a way to be productive. Haynes was named the CCAL MVP after leading the Knights back to the top of the league standings and a 5-0 record against league opponents. On the ground, he finished with 1,343 yards and 22 touchdowns on 178 carries. He averaged 122.1 yards per game and had seven 100-plus yard games. As a receiver, he caught 55 passes for 658 yards and seven scores. He was the team leader in every rushing and receiving category. He finished the year with 30 total touchdowns, fifth in the Sac-Joaquin Section, and 2,607 all-purpose yards.

And he was always the first to credit his offensive line. It was a group of players Haynes and head coach Jeremy Plaa said was one of Downey’s best units in a few seasons. He did more than just collect offensive stats, though. He finished ninth in California in punt return yard average, producing 28.4 yards. His 606 total return yards were No. 7 in the Sac-Joaquin Section and he returned a punt for a touchdown as part of a four-score outing against Modesto.

Haynes had six games with three or more touchdowns, including in the final four games. In the season finale against Folsom, Haynes finished with 80 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

In addition to his production on offense, Haynes took on some of the best playmakers as a defensive back. He finished the season with 61 total tackles and three tackles for loss. He had two interceptions, one against Modesto and one against Folsom.

A VOL All-League First Team tight end, he caught 27 passes for 298 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games.

TE — Bryce McDaniel, Senior, Hughson

McDaniel was named a TVL All-League First Team tight end after making the switch from receiver this season in preparation for his time as a Division I football player at Fresno State. OL — Gus Munoz, Junior, Downey

Another of three Downey offensive linemen to make the CCAL All-League First Team honors, Munoz assisted in clearing pathways for Haynes’ career season.
