See which Stanislaus District football player fans voted the best of Week 10

Mason Helwick has been at the center of Pitman High’s football turnaround this season. Through nine games, the senior is the Pride’s first 1,000-plus yard rusher since Devan Bass in 2016.

He once again was a catalyst in another Pride win as he tallied 265 rush yards and a pair of touchdowns on 26 carries in his team’s 31-25 comeback win where the team scored 14 fourth quarter points.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 10 Player of the Week.

Helwick and Oakdale running back Chase Lopez each collected 44% of the votes in the poll, however Helwick’s 1,943 total votes narrowly edged Lopez’s 1,931. Helwick finished ahead of Lopez and Oakdale’s Wes Burford, who came in second and third, respectively.
