See which Stanislaus District player fans voted The Bee’s Football Player of the Week

Ripon had a dominant showing in its second game of 2025. The team out of the Trans-Valley League opened up with a 22-point first quarter against Enochs en route to a 64-28 nonleague win.

Running back/linebacker Julian Deweerd had his hands all over the win. Though he had just three carries, he rushed for a touchdown offensively. On defense, he had a tackle, 0.5 tackles for loss and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

The fans noticed his performance and voted him The Bee’s Week 2 Football Prep of the Week.

Deweerd finished first, collecting 49% of the votes in the weekly poll. He polled ahead of Davis quarterback Caleb Zaragoza and Hilmar linebacker Mattheu Brum, who came in second and third, respectively.
