See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week

Richard Flores had his two best career outings in back-to-back games. What’s even more impressive is they came in must-win playoff games.

Just a week after posting single-game career highs in carries, rush yards and rush touchdowns in the Sac-Joaquin Section quarterfinals, Flores did it again in the semis.

The junior matched his career high in carries (10) but set new personal records with 235 rush yards and five touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 49-35 win over Destiny Christian Academy.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Football Player of the Week.

Flores finished first, collecting 82% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Patterson’s Jeremiah Lugo and Oakdale’s Wes Burford, who came in second and third.
