See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week

There’s no time like the playoffs to have a career game, and Oakdale’s Richard Flores took full advantage of the moment.

He helped pace the Mustangs’ rushing attack that produced over 400 yards on the ground in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III quarterfinals to lead the team to a 35-14 win over Woodcreek.

The junior rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries, posting single-game career highs in all three statistical categories. He will hope to have as big of an impact Friday night as Oakdale, the top seed in D-III, hosts Destiny Christian.

The fans noticed his quarterfinals performance, voting him The Bee’s Football Player of the Week.

Flores collected 71% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Big Valley Christian teammates Ezra Stubbert and Jeremie Jourdan, who came in second and third, respectively.
