Carson Lamb led Downey to its 10th win last Friday night in a dramatic comeback 44-41 victory over Edison of Stockton.

A win is good enough, but to make it more special, itcame in a win-or-go-home situation in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs. After falling behind early, the Knights outscored the Vikings 29-7.

In the game, Lamb completed 31 of 39 passes for 429 yards and four touchdowns. He did not throw an interception and added 28 rushing yards.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s First-Round Football Player of the Week.

Lamb collected 64% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Escalon teammates Logan Huebner and Dylan Ball, who came in second and third, respectively.
