See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week

Ceres maintained its No. 2 spot in the Western Athletic Conference despite a great effort from Davis Friday, Oct. 18, pulling out a 41-35 win.

The Bulldogs, once again, had to win in come-from-behind fashion and quarterback Kyle Phongsa Chhoeum was one of the driving forces. He overcame a pair of picks and completed 12 of 21 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a league win. Each of his touchdown passes was to a different receiver.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 9 Football Player of the Week.

Chhoeum finished first, collecting 41% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Johansen’s Ezekiel Rodriguez and Gregori’s Emmanuel Vasquez, who came in second and third, respectively.
