See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week

The Davis High defense was dominant in its 28-8 Week 8 win over Beyer.

Not only did the win give the Spartans a two-game win streak, it also was their fourth overall win this season, qualifying them for Sac-Joaquin Section postseason contention.

Linebacker Chris Munoz was all over the field for Davis, tallying 10 tackles with two passes defended and intercepting a pass to lead the victory.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 8 Football Player of the Week.

Munoz finished first, collecting 47% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Gregori’s Emmanuel Vasquez and Oakdale’s Wes Burford, who came in second and third, respectively.
