See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week

Jairus Vasquez is part of a three-man rushing attack that has led Johansen to a 2-2 overall record and a 1-0 record in WAC play.

The exciting part of the Vikings’ rushing attack is that anyone could have a big game, and in the team’s league opener last week, Vasquez led the way. He finished with game highs in carries (19) and rushing yards (221) and added one rushing touchdown and two rushing conversions in a 47-13 win.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 5 Football Player of the Week.

Vasquez finished first, collecting 60% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Oakdale two-way player Wes Burford and his teammate Kean Siang, who came in second and third, respectively.
