Football season in the Sac-Joaquin Section is coming back quickly. Teams are starting conditioning and padded practices in the coming weeks.

Teams across the Stanislaus District have circled Aug. 23, when many of them will suit up for their first taste of 2024 Friday night lights Week 1 action.

Before the season starts, we want to hear from you! Cast your vote for the area’s preseason player of the year. Players in this poll were selected based on stats from 2023 entered into MaxPreps. Enter the word “yes” to vote in the poll. Voting ends Friday, Aug. 17, at noon.
