Here’s who fans picked as the Stanislaus District’s football Player of the Week

Escalon’s football coach calls running back/linebacker Jamin Miller one of the team’s leaders and in the Cougars’ playoff opener against Sacramento High, the senior impacted the game on offense and defense.

As a running back, Miller rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries and at linebacker, he finished with five tackles. He was the team’s leading rusher and was one of four players to finish with a rushing touchdown in Escalon’s 57-32 win in the Division IV playoffs.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Football Player of the Week.

Miller came in first, earning 51% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Orestimba’s Juan Esquivez and Hughson’s Alexander Villarreal, who finished second and third, respectively.
