Here’s who fans picked as the Stanislaus District’s football Player of the Week
Davis High’s Izzy Sanchez has helped his team gain some momentum as the 2023 football season comes to a close. The quarterback and defensive back led the Spartans to Week 9 and Week 10 wins over Beyer and Johansen, respectively.
In the Week 10 24-17 win, Sanchez completed 14 of 21 passes for 193 yards and 3 touchdowns and rushed for 47 yards on 6 carries. The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 10 Player of the Week.
Sanchez came in first, earning 55% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Ripon Christian’s Brady Grondz and Oakdale’s Wes Burford, who finished second and third, respectively.
