Here’s who fans picked as the Stanislaus District’s football Player of the Week

Talan Reider did some of everything for Escalon in its win over Hilmar, knocking off the defending Trans Valley League champions.

The running back/defensive back/kicker has come up big for the Cougars all season. Earlier this year, he drilled the game-winning field goal in a non-league road victory over Buchanan. He has also scored two rushing touchdowns and had a receiving score on the season. In the 59-21 Week 9 win over the Yellowjackets, Reider rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on just four carries, had three tackles and made 4 out of 4 extra points.

The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 9 Football Player of the Week.

Reider came in first, earning 56% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Ripon Christian’s Mason Tameling and Hughson’s David Burns, who finished second and third, respectively.
