Patterson running back Jeremiah Lugo had a career day against Mountain House.

In his first season as a varsity starter, the junior helped Patterson High advance to 2-0 with a 35-21 home win over the Mustangs.

Lugo got it done on both sides of the ball, rushing for a touchdown and a career high 163 yards on offense and recording three tackles and a first half pick six in the Tigers’ second win of the season. The fans noticed, voting him The Bee’s Football Player of the Week.

Lugo finished first, earning 45% of the more than 45,000 votes in the weekly poll. He came in ahead of Modesto’s Vanntheesouk Dam and Hughson’s Alexander Villarreal who finished second and third, respectively.
