Here’s who fans picked as the Stanislaus District’s football Player of the Week

Hughson entered the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI Semifinals against Orestimba with the chance to advance to its first section title game since 2000.

Both teams featured stars in Kai Brazil (Orestimba) and Liam Bridgford (Hughson), but it was the Huskies’ two-way player who helped his team advance.

The senior running back and linebacker led the way for the Huskies, collecting 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries on offense and five tackles on defense. The fans noticed Bridgford’s performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 11 Player of the Week.

Bridgford finished first, earning 77% of the votes in the weekly poll. He came in ahead of running backs Lolo Mataele (Patterson) and Ryker Peters (Escalon), who finished second and third, respectively.
