High school football rankings: One new team enters top 10 after extending win streak
Orestimba has entered the rankings!
The Warriors have been considered for the past two weeks, but after a win against last week’s No. 9 team, Ripon Christian, they broke in, replacing the Knights at the Stanislaus District’s ninth ranked team.
The area’s No. 1 Downey, No. 4 Turlock and No. 7 Escalon all had byes last week. The Knights and Bulldogs start Central California Athletic League play Friday against Modesto and Pitman, respectively. The Cougars will play their second Trans-Valley League game as they look to bounce back from a loss to Hughson.
Two ranked teams face off this week as No. 7 Escalon travels to No. 8 Hilmar in yet another highly anticipated TVL game. Orestimba, which is 2-0 in the Southern League, plays Mariposa County which is not only 2-0 in league, but a perfect 5-0 on the season.

Valley Oak League play opens this week as Central Catholic, which is coming off a loss to the best team in the country, hosts East Union and Oakdale, a team rolling as of late, hosts Sierra.
