Escalon put together a strong performance Friday night against Windsor to bounce back from last week’s heartbreaking loss to Buchanan. The Cougars controlled the game throughout, holding the Jaguars to less than their Week 1 scoring output of 41 points in a 49-35 win.

The Cougars filled their non-league schedule with tough competition and have continued to play competitive games against bigger schools in higher divisions, proving it is one of the best small school teams in the state.

The offense showed up once again at home Friday night as Escalon out-gained Windsor with 478 total yards while the defense allowed 394.

Ryker Peters continued his dominant rushing season with 201 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries and Logan Anderson added a stellar all around offensive performance with nine carries for 90 yards and four catches, 70 yards and one touchdown.

The Cougars’ final non-league test comes next week against Kimball (2-1), which is coming off a 40-21 win over West-Tracy.
