The Modesto High football team is looking to get back to the top half of its league for the first time since 2017, when it finished 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the Modesto Metro Conference, finishing in second place behind Gregori. The fans expect the Panthers to turn the program around this season and go from last to first in the Central California Athletic League by the end of October.

The fans voted Modesto as the team they expect to win the CCAL this season. The Panthers gained 50% of the vote, beating out last season’s league champion Downey and the 2021 third place finisher Turlock, who came in second and third, respectively.

The Panthers open the season against Johansen and Beyer in Weeks 1 and 2. They kick off CCAL play on Aug. 30 at home against Downey.
