Roundup: Patterson beats Davis as coach Rob Cozart picks up his 100th career victory
It was a milestone evening on Friday for Patterson High football coach Rob Cozart as he earned his 100th career victory in the Tigers’ 49-22 victory over Davis at Johansen High.
Senior quarterback Logan McCleery had three touchdown passes for Patterson (3-1).
Patterson ends the season at home against Mountain House next Friday while Davis (1-3) is at Beyer on Thursday at Downey.
Turlock 35, Gregori 13: Senior running back Josiah Gonzales had 22 carries for 59 yards and three touchdowns in the win for Turlock (4-0). Sophomore quarterback Cole Gilbert had 113 passing yards and two touchdowns and added 109 rushing yards.
Gregori junior quarterback Cruz Marines had 222 passing yards and one touchdown and added 57 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Downey 26, Pitman 14: The Knights (2-2) won their second straight, beating the Pride (2-2) in a Central California Athletic League game.
Enochs 38, Modesto 16: The Eagles (3-1) led 30-0 at halftime in their win over the Panthers (0-4).
Los Banos 40, Johansen 16: The Vikings (0-4) fell on the road to the Tigers (1-3).
Central Valley 34, Mountain House 13: The Hawks (4-0) trailed 13-7 at half but scored 27 unanswered points in the second half. Senior Isaiah Hidalgo had three touchdown runs and senior Amari Taylor had a 1-yard touchdown run.
Hilmar 40, Livingston 7: Senior Cole Bailey had an interception return for a touchdown and sophomore running back Cannon Irelan had two touchdown runs for the Yellowjackets (3-1).
It was Hilmar’s final home game of the season.
“The thing I’m most happy about tonight is that the kids are back on the field playing and our seniors got one last chance to play at home,” Hilmar coach Frank Marques said in an interview with the Turlock Journal. “That was a really big deal.”
Hughson 34, Orestimba 12: Senior Nolan Rawe returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown in the win for Hughson (4-0). Senior quarterback Anthony Casillas had a passing and rushing touchdown for Orestimba (2-2).
Waterford 60, Riverbank 8: The Wildcats moved to 3-1 on the season with the win over the Bruins (0-4).
Sonora 27, Calaveras 21: Sonora (3-0) won a tightly-contested Mother Lode League game over Calaveras (2-2).
Big Valley Christian 30, Delta Charter 7: Seniors Zachary Aloisio and Marcus Lema each had a rushing touchdown in the win for the Lions (1-2).
Beyer, Lathrop: The game was canceled due to COVID-19 issues at Lathrop.
Pacheco, Ceres: The game was canceled early Friday afternoon for an unknown reason.
Mariposa 40, Denair 10: The Coyotes (1-3) fell on the road on Thursday.
