CIF State releases bowl game pairings; Ripon at home while Escalon travels

Hours after winning Sac-Joaquin Section titles on Saturday, Escalon and Ripon were given their next assignments as the CIF released its regional bowl game pairings on Sunday.

Ripon (12-1), which beat Center in the Division V title game, will host Sutter (12-1) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Division 4-AA. Escalon (12-1) will travel to Chico to face Pleasant Valley (7-5) on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Division 4-A.

Manteca is at McClymonds (10-0) in Division 2-A and Sierra (10-3), which beat Oakdale in the Division IV championship, hosts Rancho Cotate (10-3) in Division 3-A. Both games are Saturday at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, Mariposa (8-4) will play Lincoln (10-1) of San Francisco on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Golden Valley High School in Merced.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for high school students (with a valid ASB card), seniors (65 years old and older) and children.

Winners of the games on Friday and Saturday advance to state title games.
