8. (3) Downey (8-1, 4-1): With a stunning loss to Modesto, the Knights no longer control their own destiny in the MMC. Friday: Bye.

9. (9) East Union (6-2, 3-2): Levi Huffman (154 yards, two TDs) was a force on both sides of the ball as the Lancers qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section postseason for a second straight year with a rare victory over Sierra. Friday: at Summerville.

4. (5) Modesto Christian (4-4, 3-0): Davion Gates and Isaac Schinmann scored two touchdowns apiece for the surging Crusaders, who throttled two-time defending TVL champion Hilmar, 41-13. Modesto Christian can clinch a share of the league title with one more win. Friday: at Escalon.
