Enochs boys soccer player Kiryakous signs with Stanislaus State
Christian Kiryakous is believed to be the first boys soccer at Enochs High to receive a Division I or II scholarship.
The senior forward/midfielder signed his letter of intent for Cal State Stanislaus on Wednesday in the Career Center on campus.
Kiryakous had six goals in 14 matches in the fall, according to MaxPreps, and 10 during a two-year varsity career.
Stanislaus State coach Dana Taylor knows what type of player he is getting in Kiryakous. He coached the 6-foot-2 playmaker with the under-15 San Jose Earthquakes academy team.
Kiryakous joins a Warrior program coming a historic season. Stanislaus State went 15-4-3 and made its second NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Warriors posted records for wins (15), goals (59), assists (49), points (159), shutouts (10), goals against average (0.94) and save percentage (.800).
