High school basketball: Here are the 2025 Sac-Joaquin Section boys and girls playoff pairings
The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section on Saturday released its 2024-25 boys and girls basketball playoff brackets via a selection show.
Sacramento Bee veteran reporter Joe Davidson, Modesto Bee reporter Quinton Hamilton and section assistant commissioner Will DeBoard broke down who’s in and who’s out of this year’s postseason in the annual selection show.
Playoffs begin with play-in games Monday, Feb. 17, for girls and Tuesday, Feb. 18, for boys. Girls first round matchups in all six divisions are Tuesday, Feb. 18, while first round matchups for the six boys divisions are Wednesday, Feb. 19.
For the boys, Modesto Christian earned the top spot in the section’s top division. The Crusaders are looking to four-peat as section champions. Ripon Christian earned the No. 3 seed in Division IV. The Knights, who won the TVL this season and have back-to-back Division V titles, secure home court advantage through at least the quarterfinals.
In the girls brackets, Downey made the postseason after winning a Friday night tie breaker game against Pitman. Riverbank earned the highest seed of any Stanislaus District team, earning the No. 2 seed in Division IV.
