Bee reporters to join Sac-Joaquin Section staff for boys, girls basketball selection show

The Modesto Bee’s Quinton Hamilton will join The Sacramento Bee’s Joe Davidson and Sac-Joaquin Section Assistant Commissioner Will DeBoard on Saturday for the 2025 Boys and Girls Basketball Selection Show at 1:30 p.m.

The event, which each year announces the boys and girls basketball playoff field, will be livestreamed on the section’s NFHS Network page that can be found on cifsjs.org.

Davidson has covered the Sac-Joaquin Section for the Bee since 1989 and has won a number of awards. He is a 14-time California Prep Sports Writer Association winner and in 2024 was inducted into the California HS Football Hall of Fame.

A former Modesto Bee reporter, DeBoard has broken many stories in the Stanislaus District. He started with the section in 2009 as its first director of communications and was promoted to assistant commissioner in 2017.
